Because location matters, we welcome you to Trails Edge Chalet. Whether you’re planning a day of champagne powder skiing in the winter or hiking & mountain biking in the summer, all you have to do is step out the door. Choose to ski down to the mountain base via the Right ‘O Way ski run (easy green run) or take a short walk up to the Thunderhead lift to access the top of the mountain for “first tracks”. The ski runs make great trails for hiking, mountain biking and even playing a round of disc golf on the 19 “hole” course during our gorgeous summer months. Our decks are a great place to watch hot air balloons rise over the valley, gaze up at Mt Werner and the Steamboat ski resort and of course our beautiful mountain sunsets. With the new addition, the deck is larger and features a gas grill and seating area.
After a day of outside fun, return to the house for some time to relax. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub, watch a movie or your favorite ballgame on the big screen TV, play a game of ping pong, or curl up with a good book and wait for the sunset – you won’t be disappointed. Your group can prepare a terrific meal in our newly remodeled kitchen which features a top of the line Jenn-Air range/oven. The open floor plan will invite everyone to gather for food and conversation around the dining room and breakfast bar with additional seating in the solarium. Multiple living areas, all with new laminate flooring, on different levels mean there is a space for everyone to spread out – great for family and corporate retreats.
When you’re ready to call it a night, we offer 5 bedrooms which sleep 14. Beyond the bedrooms is a Queen sleeper sofa by American Leather which promises comfort for 2 in the upper level solarium. The lower level bedroom also doubles as a TV/ rec room and features accordion doors for privacy. There are 5 bathrooms, 2 new ensuite additions and the original 3 baths updated.
Just minutes away is charming, downtown Steamboat Springs. Filled with an abundance of fantastic restaurants and lots of shopping, it’s a great place to spend a day or evening. Be sure to visit Howelsen Hill where many US Olympians train for Nordic ski jumping. Or have some fun of your own with snow tubing in the winter and riding The Howlers alpine slide in the summer, with an ice arena just a few steps down the street. There are 3-4 parking spaces available. During snow season our mid-mountain road is rated ‘4 WHEEL DRIVE’. There are no deliveries by UPS & FedEx during these months. We strongly recommend 4 wheel drive vehicles only during this season.
IN HOME AMENITIES
This property has WIFI and comes fully stocked with paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, tissues), bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap), and detergents (dish, dishwasher, and laundry) as well as clean bed linens and towels. In addition, the kitchens are stocked with trash bags, soap, salt and pepper, starter coffee, cookware, bakeware, dishes, glasses, utensils, and standard small appliances. This home does not have air conditioning. Cool Colorado summer nights will keep this home comfortable by opening windows after the sun goes down, and then closing the windows and blinds during the day. Utilizing the overhead fans, if available, keeps airflow moving, additional floor fans can be found in many bedroom closets.
